  Rev. Martin E. Michniewicz, Pastor

 

Fr. Martin E. Michniewicz was officially assigned to St. Alexander on July 1, 2010.

Fr. Martin E. Michniewicz celebrated his 25th Anniversary in May of 2011.

Past assignments include: St. Andrew the Apostle, St. Mary Star of the Sea

 

Rev. Colm Mitchell, Associate Pastor

Fr. Mitchell was ordained a priest on May 21, 2022. Prior to coming to St. Alexander, he served four years at St. John Fisher Parish in the Beverly neighborhood during his theology studies at Mundelein Seminary. After graduating from the seminary in 2021, he served as a deacon at Nativity of Our Lord & St. Gabriel Parish in the Bridgeport and Canaryville neighborhoods.  Growing up in Elmwood Park on the Northwest side, he attended St. Celestine grammar school, Saint Patrick High School, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Fr. Mitchell’s interests include history (especially Civil War and Irish history), fishing, hunting, all things related to Irish culture (music, language, sport), stamp collecting, and going to White Sox games. He is a dog lover with two German Shepherds.

 

  Deacon Mike Ciciura

 

Deacon Mike was ordained a permanent deacon in 2011. He grew up in St. Joseph Parish in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, attended Quigley South Seminary High School, Niles College Seminary of Loyola University in Chicago, and after graduation spent a year at St. Mary of the Lake Seminary in Mundelein.

Before coming to St. Alexander he served at St. Cyril & Methodius Parish in Lemont. Mike married Denise in 1996 and they currently reside in Lemont. Working at Lisle Savings Bank since 1992, Mike is now the Branch Manager of LSB Financial Services. Continuing his participation in ministries for the Archdiocese of Chicago, Mike is a Field Advocate for the Metropolitan Tribunal, the Healing and Deliverance Ministry, and a Certified Spiritual Director.

   
  Deacon Jim Horton

 

Ordained in 2007, Deacon Jim is the Parish Operations Manager at St. Alexander Parish in Palos Heights. He and his wife, Linda Horton, a Certified Lay Minister, have been married for 25 years and enjoy being a part of this vibrant parish. Jim retired 4 years ago after 30 years as an Advertising Sales Representative for The Chicago Tribune. Jim was born in Indianapolis, graduated from Bishop Noll Catholic High School, attended the University of Indiana and spent most of his youthful days in Chesterton, Indiana

Jim is also a Past Grand Knight, 4th Degree of the San Salvador Knights of Columbus. Deacon Jim teaches Religious Education, is a chaplain at Palos Hospital and a representative for St. Alexander’s Parish on the United Power for Action and Justice Organization in Chicago.
