The Right of Christian Initiation for Adults (R.C.I.A.)
RCIA/Adult Education Classes
This is a reminder that St. Alexander offers adult formation classes on Sunday mornings immediately following the 9:00 a.m. Mass in the Teacher’s Lounge. These classes are available to anyone interested in studying the Catholic faith at a deeper level. So far the response has been light but we will continue to offer the classes as long as anyone is interested.
Please be aware that the classes are on a drop in basis so you can attend whenever the subject matter for the day appeals to you. Please come and join us as often as you can and remember to bring a friend.
Here is the schedule through the end of November:
October 28: What Does It Mean To Be Church? The session will explore that while we are individuals we also belong to the Communion of Saints and how community is important to our sense of belonging to something important.
November 4: Baptism and Original Sin. Here we will discuss Original Sin, its impact on humanity and how Baptism restores our relationship with God.
November 11: No session this week.
November 18: Reconciliation and Forgiveness. During this session we will study how reconciliation
can only be achieved through one’s willingness to forgive. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will also be discussed.
November 25: No session this week.
